Orwell Archive Group is building up a digital archive of Orwell's history, using the many photographs, documents and reminiscences offered to us by local residents - past and present. To see the pages of photos and documents added so far click on 'Images' above.
We have a backlog of many items to upload to the archive and each must be correctly dated and linked with any additional information that we can find. Our intention is to add continually to our archive to maintain an ongoing record of life in Orwell, and we will welcome pictures and reports of village events from individuals and local organisations.
In January 2010 we published a selection of photographs from the archive under the title '20th Century Orwell through the Camera Lens'; this can be purchased from Orwell Community Archive Group at
