Fordham
Fordham is a thriving village, sitting on the edge of the fens that spread north west to Ely and beyond. Built on agricultural history, it boasts a pre 13th Century church, an active Congregational Chapel, a grand Victorian village hall, a very good primary school, excellent recreational facilities including sports pavillions, children's play area and an all weather playing surface.

It has two public houses, a British Legion Club, two licensed restaurants, two garages, two shops besides other businesses. An active Scout group and Rainbows and Brownies. A regular bus service to Newmarket, Cambridge and Ely, and a sponsored bus service to Soham Clinic.

On the outskirts of the village(on the A142 Newmarket to Ely road) there are three large companies also a number of other companies in two industrial areas.

There is a new bypass, which has given us the peace and tranquility we knew many years ago, and has enabled us to once again enjoy the unique system of ancient country footpaths that cover the whole village by the shortest routes.

And last but not least, we are blessed with two beautifully laid out and well organised sheltered housing complexes.
