 BURROUGH GREEN & DISTRICT COMMUNITY ARCHIVE
The district group consist of the four main villages in the Church Primary school collection area, are, Burrough Green, Brinkley, Carlton and Westley Waterless.
LOCATION
All communities are in the County of Cambridgeshire, Burrough Green, Brinkley and Westley Waterless in East Cambs with Carlton in South Cambs  District Council.  With highest contour at 115 mtrs in Carlton all villages fall away to the Fleam Dyke chalk lands at Six Mile bottom
HISTORY
All the communities have records in the Doomsday Book of 1086 that include churches and private houses.  The Burrough Green primary school first built in 1630 has seen various extensions to meet the growing size of the communities.
RELIGION
There are churches in all the villages that are grouped together under the  vicar who is also responsible for Stetchworth and Dullingham where there is the current vicarage.
AGRICULTURE
The land consist of heavy clay in Carlton varying to light chalk soil falling away from Brinkley and Westley Waterless. With the head of the river Stour rising in Carlton. and added pump supplies from Norfolk the area has twice been considered as a reservoir.
Mainly arable land, there is a large farm for cattle dealing supplying market needs.
