SAWTRY  COMMUNITY ARCHIVE
Welcome! .... This is the Sawtry Village Digital Archive, maintained by the Sawtry History Society.
Including  Conington, Glatton & Holme.

We want this archive to become a permanent record of images, memories and memorabilia for all local people.
So what do YOU have that can be added? We would welcome photos, records and memories of Sawtry, this ancient village on the extreme edge of the Fens.
A bit about Sawtry...
Sawtry lies midway between Peterborough and Huntingdon, alongside the Great North Road. It was founded before the Anglo Saxons and is mentioned in the Domesday Book. It was home to Roman Legions, Cromwell fought the Cavaliers here and American bombers once roared overhead.  It is home to around 6000 residents.
We look forward to hearing from you.
